Isotope (Informing Science Outreach and Public Engagement) is an action research project that began in January 2006. Since then the project team has worked with stakeholders to collaboratively produce the Isotope website.

Isotope is an open-source, member-driven website containing information and resources for the science outreach and public engagement practitioner community.

The initial resources on the site were requested by practitioners following research to investigate existing practices and needs, and have been collaboratively produced by practitioners and social researchers for use by others with an interest in science outreach and public engagement.

One of the key aims of the website is for members to add further resources to the site.

From the Isotope home page you can navigate to the nine main sections of the site. In each section you can scroll down to browse the resources, or look for something specific by using the Search function. The resources in each section have been submitted by the project team or by Isotope members under a Creative Commons licence.
