Q. Do you have anything to do with the Festival on Carlton Hill?

A. No.  We are named after the spring festival, when different communities would come together and matchmaking would take place, the Edinburgh Beltane partnership is based on existing collaborations in public engagement (PE) activities amongst its members. Also Beltane is it is the gaelic for Beacon.

Q. If I apply for some funding, can you organise/run a public engagement event for me?

A. We're afraid not! Our remit is to highlight the excellent public engagement practice going on across Scotland, and build capacity so all researchers can increase the impact of their research by engaging the public. We are not able to organise or run public events, but we do offer support and advice.
