Vacancy: External Engagement Project Co-ordinator, University of Sheffield.

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Sheffield is advertising a post for an External Engagement Project Co-ordinator. The closing date for applications is the 27th February 2012.

Comprised of seven departments, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Sheffield is one of the leading centres for research in the arts and humanities in the UK.  We also have an international reputation for high-quality and innovative learning and teaching, delivered by staff committed to providing an outstanding student experience and at the cutting edge of research in their own disciplines.   The Faculty's aim is to combine the best in individual scholarship with collaborative interdisciplinary work so as to create new perspectives - creative, material, historical, linguistic, literary, or philosophical - as we interrogate the world around us.

The Faculty makes a significant contribution to the University's civic mission and has developed a range of close and productive partnerships across the city and beyond.  We have an agreed innovation and knowledge exchange strategy and over the coming years we aim to foster arts enterprise for the benefit of students, staff and our wider community of partners including the Sheffield public.

Higher Education Innovation Funding (HEIF) has been secured to fund this post which will play an important role in co-ordinating the delivery our external engagement strategy.  We are looking for a highly skilled individual who will work with academic colleagues to support the development and delivery of projects, develop relationships and broker effective partnership working.  The successful candidate will have a knowledge of and commitment to public engagement, experience in delivering successful projects and events and the ability to communicate with and enthuse colleagues.

The post is full time and fixed-term until the 31 July 2015.
