The successful applicant, who will also receive a cash award of £1000, will spend a period of 8 – 10 weeks gaining experience in making science radio programmes and podcasts, web development, science writing, video editing and production.

The Wellcome Trust is looking for an organisation or consortium to develop and deliver a new strand of In the Zone, the Trust's major initiative linked to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The new strand, In the Zone 'Lite' involves developing and delivering interactive experiences for the public and training for science communicators and educators.  It will engage the public with the science of how their body works during sport, activity, movement and rest.

Institute of Physics' Public Engagement Grant Scheme 2012: Round 2

Do you have a fantastic idea for making physics accessible? Do you want to reach a wider audience? Do you need some support to make your outreach activity happen?

The second round of the 2012 Public Engagement Grant from the Institute of Physics is now open for applications. The grants are worth up to £1000 and aim to support physics-based outreach activities in the UK and Ireland throughout 2012. Activities should provide engaging experiences of physics to public audiences.

A call has been put out for Expressions of Interest from research team consortia to work with arts and cultural organisations and technology providers on projects under The Digital Research & Development Fund for Arts and Culture in Scotland. It is anticipated that a total of up to £170,000 full economic cost will be available to fund the successful research consortia. The closing date for applications is 12 noon on the 28th March 2012.
